Look Rock..Another eventful outing!

We headed up to Look Rock the other day. It was a nice little hike...perfect for the boys. It was a lot of fun and we really needed to get out of the house and get some fresh air! It went great until Luke slipped into the caged area that held the stair case that went up to the "tower". He was on his way up the stairs when Chad noticed. I grabbed him through the bars and walked him back down the stairs. We tried to get him out, but his head just would not fit back through the bars! We tried several different openings. He was getting frantic. Finally, chad found a bar that was bent slightly and got his head through there! I just knew they were going to have to cut the bars away to get him out! Things are never uneventful with our boys! Nonetheless we had a great time.

Let it Snow!

Snow was in the forcast for last week....but, it never really came! Ethan had his camo hat and gloves all ready to use....but, never got to! Hopefully we'll get some for Christmas. We are going to Gatlinburg tomorrow night for our Christmas with mom. Maybe we'll get some while we are up there. We are excited to get to see all of the decorations up there. We've never gone at Christmas time with the kids. They will love it.

Goodbye Sadie

Well, last night we said good-bye to Sadie. She is such a sweet dog and Ethan loves her so much, but, we just could not get her housebroken. Ethan doesn't know she's gone yet, so SHHHHHHH. I kept her outside for a few days once I knew she had to go no matter once....he kept asking where she was and why. But, it seems like he's forgotten for now. I know it'll come up...but, hopefully it'll be easier this way. She went to a good home with a little girl who lost her beagle a few months ago. So, she'll be happy.

Christmas at Fort Loudoun

Today, mom and I took the boys to Ft. Loudoun for Living History. It was pretty cool. There was military activity, an 18th century church service with carolling, and lots of indian and soldiers that stayed in character the whole time. I told a little boy, he was about 5 or 6, that he was a good actor...he said, "I'm not acting, I really live here!". It was cute. We had a good time and we learned a lot. They boys got to see the canons and a huge gun fired. Luke wasn't too fond of it...it was pretty loud!

Knoxville Botanical Gardens

This Weekend we went to the Botanical Gardens with the Rodgers Family. Emily took our pictures and they turned out so great! Plus, the kids had a good time running around with each other.

Our Week so far....

Well, first of all Luke is doing really well. He's so tough. His finger doesn't look so great, but, I guess you can't really expect it too. As expected, it's going to take a while to heal up. He bumps it now and then, but for the most part he doesn't act like it bothers him. His next check up is Friday.
Ethan has had a doozy of a week! So far, he has painted his bathroom sink with my dark pink nail polish (although I must give him some credit because he did attempt to clean it up with his hand towel), ate an entire pack of Orbitz gum in like 2 minutes while I took the dog out (if you want the dog let me know ;)), spilled a bag of sugar all over the kitchen, and peed on the toilet lid instead of IN the toilet. So, it's been fun...that's all I'll say! After he got scolded this morning after the bag of sugar incident, I was holding him...he said he wanted his daddy. I jokingly said "you don't want your daddy!". He said, "yes I do...my daddy's a good man....the next day, when it's growing up day....I'm gonna me a man....just like my daddy." It was so sweet! It's been a crazy week so far, but I'm so blessed to have my boys and I wouldn't trade it for the world!

The Longest Week EVER!!!

Last Monday, we had a pretty traumatic day. We had an "incident" with our stoller. It seriously injured Luke's right index finger. He lost the top of his finger...about 3/4 of the way down to his top knuckle. The poor thing has been in a lot of pain. He's a little trooper though and has handled it very well. Wednesday, we went to the specialist. Thursday, the stroller company sent their lawyer to talk with us. Keep in mind, this whole time we've had virtually no sleep. Friday, on the way to our lawyers office, Luke threw up all over the car. Sunday, I got the bug. Sunday night, Chad was up all night with Luke and Ethan and then had to go to work. It's been a rough week. But, when I hear what other people are going through right now, I know that we are blessed. I'm thankful that I have 2 healthy boys. We really appreciate your prayers right now. Luke goes back to the specialist on Thursday and they are going to remove the bandages. I'm just praying that he doesn't have to go through too much more pain and that he heals up very quickly. We have had so many people praying for us and we have really felt it. Thank you so much to everyone for your prayers and support!

Fort Loudoun

We went down to Ft Loudoun Saturday and walked around. It was so pretty and quiet. It's a neat replica. Ethan loved the museum with the soldier costumes and artifacts that were found there. Here are some pics of our day.

Hay Ride

Today we went to Maple Lanes with our mom's group. We had a good time. The boys got to each pick out a pumpkin and run through the mini-maze. It was a little warm and didn't reallly feel like fall...but, hopefully the cool weather is on it's way.
