July 2016

We made a trip to Alabama to visit Aunt Jessie's family.  We were so sad that they moved, but, it's been fun getting to visit them.   We went to Oak Mtn. State Park and got to swim, picnic, and visit a wildlife rehabilitation center.  We also went sightseeing in downtown Birmingham.   Around the house, our berries started producing and were delicious.

September

Ethan had another litter of bunnies with his new doe.   They were adorable and a huge distraction from school!   We all just wanted to hold them constantly.   They are mostly sold now.  I'm hoping the rest sell so I don't end up cooking them!

We also tried to watch the eclipse, but, it was so cloudy that we only got a view of it for a few minutes.   The kids still thought it was amazing!

June

June was a very busy month for us!   We had a special visit from my cousin, aunt, and grandmother from FL.  We've also been traipsing about in the woods and mountains quite a bit.   We also have had a lot going on at home.

Zinnia hatched 4 eggs.  The chicks were adorable!  They were doing so well until I forgot to shut the hen house one night.  We woke up to the dog going crazy.  When we went to check it out, a raccoon had just finished off our chicks.  All of the other hens were just paralyzed on their roosts, waiting for their turn.  That was so disappointing.  We have 12 more eggs brooding right now and I'm sure I won't that mistake again.

We've been up at Tremont quite a bit for bird banding.

After bird banding, we usually go for a walk or hike.

It's been a great summer so far!
